Reciprocity Timer offers comprehensive management of film photography workflows, providing both basic and advanced features tailored to different user needs.

The application is available in two versions: the "Standard" Version, which excludes advanced functionality but supports reciprocity calculations for a selection of common films, and the "Pro" Version, accessible via an in-app purchase of $9.99 USD, unlocking a suite of enhanced features.

With the initial purchase, users can perform reciprocity calculations for all films included by selecting an observed exposure time. The $1.99 USD non-pro version is particularly suitable for casual users, especially those new to film, who require simple reciprocity adjustments for frequently used films. This version does not include additional features such as note-taking or a camera database.

More experienced photographers or those with specific workflow needs may opt to upgrade to the pro version after their initial purchase. Upgrading unlocks advanced functions such as a Zone Editor, notes, camera and film holder databases, and options for custom films and filters.

Users who only need basic reciprocity calculations for a fixed camera setup may find no need to upgrade. The app provides an in-app purchase to enhance capabilities—including note management, custom film entries, and favorite film selections—streamlining the entire film shooting process within a single interface.

The app’s core functionality includes selecting a film type and measured exposure time to instantly receive anticipated reciprocity-adjusted exposure. It also features an integrated exposure timer for long exposures and a slider for filter adjustments like NDs and polarizers.

Support for numerous film stocks and filters allows users to maintain detailed notes and easily share their exposure settings with colleagues. The app aims to simplify the complexities of film photography through its intuitive design and comprehensive tools.

Additionally, Reciprocity Timer can be configured within Settings -> Notification Center to ensure timely alerts during long exposures when the device may be asleep.

An Apple Watch companion app is included; installation requires pairing the watch with your iPhone via the Apple Watch app. Once paired, users can install Reciprocity Timer directly onto their watch or enable automatic installation for added convenience.
